IPS e.max crowns, veneers and inlays
Lithium disilicate restorations for anterior cases where translucency and shade match matter most. Patients can visit the lab for custom shading.
What it is
IPS e.max is a lithium disilicate glass ceramic. It is pressed or milled, then characterized by hand. Its translucency reads more like natural enamel than zirconia does, which makes it our first choice for anterior aesthetics.
For difficult shades, send the patient to our Mount Kisco lab. Our ceramist matches the shade in person under controlled lighting, which beats working from photos alone.
When to prescribe it
- Anterior crowns and veneers
- Inlays and onlays
- Single central incisors, where the match must be exact
- Cases with a conservative prep
- Patients who object to any metal
